Wendy L. Baker, MSW, LICSW

Wendy L. Baker, MSW, LICSW is co-founder of Family Circle Counseling, in St. Paul, MN. A family focused group practice with particular dedication to adoptive and foster care families and their unique and potentially intensive therapeutic needs. Wendy has over 40 years of therapeutic experience working with high needs children, teens, families and individuals of all ages with specialization in clinical work with trauma survivors who deal with issues surrounding childhood neglect, physical & sexual abuse and attachment traumas/disruptions. She has advanced professional training in the areas of attachment; complex trauma; child development; play therapy; infant-early child therapy; expressive and family therapies. She is a certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and EMDR therapist and in addition has specialized training in Theraplay, DBT, and DDP and Emotion Focused therapy methods. Wendy has conducted parent and professional trainings throughout the state of Minnesota in the areas of attachment; trauma; approaches for working with attachment challenged adolescents; and child/adolescent assessment and expressive therapy with youth. Wendy has taught the PACC post graduate certification course at the U of MN on post adoption clinically competent work since its inception 13 years ago. She has been an adjunct faculty member at University of St. Thomas for several years teaching Master’s Level Graduate School courses in Clinical Social Work.
