Hello and welcome! My name is Bridget Stevens-Murphy, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I earned my Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in clinical practice from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2002. Over the years, I have worked both domestically and internationally in diverse settings dedicated to supporting children, families, and communities.
I am a warm, grounded listener whose priority is helping you feel comfortable and empowered in the therapeutic process. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can reflect, gain deeper self-understanding, and move toward living a fuller, more authentic life.
Approach & Areas of Focus
My practice is rooted in an integrative, strength-based, and relational approach that emphasizes holistic, person-centered care. I am committed to cultural competence and social justice, and I believe in treating the body and mind as interconnected parts of the whole self.
I specialize in supporting individuals and families navigating:
- Adoption and permanency-related issues
- Relationship and intimacy challenges
- Infertility
- Anxiety and depression
- Trauma and life transitions
- Mindful living practices
- Women’s issues
I am a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) practitioner, trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Additionally, I hold a post-graduate certificate in specialized adoption and permanency from the University of Minnesota.
Philosophy
It is my passion to provide culturally responsive care that fosters safety, healing, and empowerment for all individuals and families courageously working through life’s challenges.
Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside of my professional life, I am a mom, wife, and sister. I enjoy reading, exploring new places, practicing yoga, and finding beauty in the outdoors
