I have over 24 years of experience working in the area of adoption. I have worked with adoptive parents, adopting infants, both domestically and internationally, birth parents, and now post adoption services, primarily facilitating search and reunion services. In the early 2000’s, I did serve as one of two trainers in the state of MN, for the “Infant Adoption Awareness Training Program.”

Leah Strom has been a social worker since 2001 and has practiced in many areas since that time including child protection, adoption, foster care, training and education. Leah's current role is the Phoenix Learning Xchange (PLX) Coordinator at the Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare (CASCW).

Amelia is the Founder and Executive Officer of the national non-profit, Alia. Amelia and Team Alia are UnSysteming the child welfare system and shifting mindsets and practice to keep children safely with, not from, their families. Alia employs a community co-design approach, working alongside parents with lived expertise and innovative systems leaders as partners to co-create new solutions to longstanding problems, while supporting the wellbeing of leaders, teams, and caregivers.

Currently, Michael is licensed in MN, AZ (LCSW), and Iowa (LISW), and is attending Tulane University and in the process of obtaining the Doctor of Social Work degree. Mike also works for the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus as a Financial Aid Counselor working primarily with at risk students who experience homelessness, foster care or adoption system involvement along with families who are going through crisis.
