I bring experience from both the clinical side and the child welfare world, and I love helping people of all ages feel seen and supported. I am an adoptive parent myself and with adoption in my family of origin.

I previously worked at the Human Services Center in Yankton, SD on the long term adolescent unit and did Child Protection/Adoptions/Children’s Mental Health Case Management for a county prior to working with children at Western Mental Health Center.

Sara Barber has experience with adoption in both professional and personal capacities, having worked with post-adoptive families for several years, as well as adopted three children of her own. Her personal and professional experience has given her a rich understanding of some of the difficult situations adoptive families and children face, along with knowledge of strategies and tools that incite hope and healing.
