Heather has 15 years experience working within the adoption community. Her prior work focused on supporting birth and adoptive parents with grief, loss and open adoption relationships as well as educating and supporting parents adopting children with traumatic backgrounds.

Teresa Schumacher, LSW, is a Permanency Social Worker and Foster Care Licensor with Minnesota Prairie County Alliance. She provides case management for children awaiting adoption while under guardianship of the State or Minnesota as well as licensing child foster care programs.

Post Adopt is a program that provides support to families who have adopted from foster care, families who have adopted infants or children internationally or domestically, and to families who provide guardianship to a child in their home. Jennifer is a graduate of the Moorhead State University Social Work program. She spent the first two years of her professional career in child protection for the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services before accepting a position in Douglas County where she has been ever since.

I have worked in Child Protection for eight years; I provide ongoing case management to families and children. Our primary focus is reunification and helping maintain the family unit. However, I also work with youth post-permanency until a permanency plan can be finalized.
