I am a Supervisor at Hennepin County, working with families eligible under the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). I supervise five Kinship Social Workers who search for relatives and kin for foster care placement, and two Adoption Resource Workers who assist families in finalizing their adoption. I work on Northstar Kinship and Adoption Assistance as well.

I provide support to foster, birth and adoptive families. I have worked in the child protection field for over 12 years with approximately 6 of them in adoption. I locate families for children on my case load with the goal of permanency.

Leech Lake Foster Care and Adoption Program mission statement : To protect a child's sense of belonging to family and Tribe by promoting family preservation through the use of the seven traditional Anishinaabe values and by providing services that ensure the health, safety, and welfare of Leech Lake children. I have been working as the Guardian/Adoption Specialist for more than one year, and previously worked as a Lead Case Manager and Case Manager for Leech Lake Child Welfare for nine and half years.

I have over 24 years of experience working in the area of adoption. I have worked with adoptive parents, adopting infants, both domestically and internationally, birth parents, and now post adoption services, primarily facilitating search and reunion services. In the early 2000’s, I did serve as one of two trainers in the state of MN, for the “Infant Adoption Awareness Training Program.”
